A mentoring session was held last Saturday, May 29, 2010 for Mobilextreme participants at the conference room of the Ayala Foundation. Present during the session were Manny Fernando, president of Megamobile, Inc., Dickie Gonzalez, MobilXtreme Director and team members of Stratloc, Blue Rangers and iUniversity who were also awarded P5000 cash prizes and certificates of recognition for being the top mobile app teams in at concept level. During the session, Dickie Gonzalez emphasized that the application's usefulness and usability was important considerations in the development of the prototypes. Hence, participants were requested to test their application on the MobileXtreme emulator so as to ensure that these are in working order before the next elimination round, which decides the finalists who will make their presentation before a panel of judges. Manny Fernando explained that the attendees can send the link to other toolkits in support of prototypes. As no one yet has been eliminated, all the 11 teams are in the running to get into the finals and the chance to win the grand prize of P100, 000. The deadline of submission of working prototypes is on June 15, 2010 at 5am. Megamobile will test the prototypes and submit their recommendations to the MobileXtreme steering committee, which after the approval of the recommendations will inform the teams of their acceptance into the finals and presentation before judges by June 23, 2010. |
